A LIGHT-HEARTED LOOK AT TODAYS P.P.G. MEETING
- MINUTES FROM THE PREVIOUS MEETING:
Telephones:
The new telephone system is now up and running, and the practice are now receiving positive feedback.
They got there in the end! Hurrah!
TEAM BUILDING:
There are several changes in professional members over the next month or so. Amongst those are:
Outward Bound:
Aziza (Already gone) Charlie (Already gone)
Dr Witt is on maternity leave – and we wish her all the best for the birth.
Incoming:
Dr E. Grouse, Dr R. Rabee, Dr Evans, Dr N. Begum will be joining us
A new nurse will be joining us, (and she will be a familiar face to anyone going to the CICAccellerate stoma leg and footcare unit in Mile End Hospital) Rahima Begum is joining the practice for a 2 year period (at least).
We say farewell and good luck to those leaving us, and give a hearty welcome to those joining.
ON ANY OTHER BUSINESS:
The group were reminded that Ability Bow is still struggling for funding, and that their situation is even harder now that a key staff member (Laura) has left for pastures new.
Prescriptions Online.
Problems seem to be seeping into the online ordering of prescriptions. This is being looked into, and should be solved shortly.
Other minor admin and operational matters were looked into.
The minutes were approved.
2. QI Update – (In house stats.)
We now have almost 14,000 registered patients.
There are currently around 6% to 8% of patients booking appointments and not turning up. Most of these are from those booking 48 hour appointments. Please remember that every missed appointment costs the practice around £120.00p, so please remember that if you book an appointment and do not attend, you could now receive a text or e-mail hilighting your missed appointment with a copy of the practice’s Code of Practice in this matter.
So please – if you can’t attend for a booked appointment, or no longer require the booked appointment:
PLEASE CALL RECEPTION TO CANCEL IT.
3. Changes to Monday Morning on-call set-up:
You will find that following tasking adjustments, there will now be an increase in the number of people answering telephones.
4. Online Access.
You may experience problems with the online allocation of doctors available for appointments, and the dates they are available. If you do, don’t panic, if the booked appointment looks wrong just call reception, and they will check it out for you. A system upgrade will soon be inserted which should eliminate this problem.
5. Any Other Business
HOUSEKEEPING. The pratice are aware that there have been some problems with housekeeping matters recently, which include Toilets, Water supply, and heating amongst others. These matters have been passed to the housekeeping company, and will hopefully be sorted soon.
REAL & LOCAL VOICES. The group was made aware of the work being carried out by the Local Voices and Real projects who operate in Tower Hamlets, supporting the borough’s disabled patients. Mark informed the group that he is now on their steering group for future reference.
The practice was made aware of the Google Translator widget and app. Mark informed the group that he will add it to our blogsite for assessment. (why don’t you try it out?)
6. Date of next meeting:
The next meeting will be on Thursday 8th March 2018 at 1.00pm. If you will be free, please come along.
