THE INFORMAL MINUTES OF TODAYS PPG MEETING
In the absence of our chairman, Chris Ward took the chair for what was a relaxed and informal meeting.
MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING
For the first time, we were in the large meeting room, and we had a correction to the minutes of the previous meeting!
The final section on page two should have read TH Autism Group and not TH Autism Carers Group.
The minutes were then approved.
Chris requested that we be patient with the building repairs which will hopefully only mean that some areas may be closed of for the works. We will know more by the next meeting.
JOINING AND LEAVING!
Dr Rahman will be leaving in the new year, but returning as a Locum.
Dr Ed Flather will be joining the practice.
I suggested that we should now be increasing our social media footprint. It was agreed that I manage a Facebook Page and a Twitter account on behalf of the Group, on the same basis as this blogsite. I also offered to compose a new edition of our newsletter.
Keep an eye out, and please follow the social media sites when you see them.
PUBLICIZING THE GROUP
It was pointed out that our meetings and the existence of the group should be highlighted in the reception area. Chris agreed to re-issue our flyer for show on reception.
A member of the group donated a book of short stories by many writers entitled: “I’ll see myself out, thank you” to the practice library.
There was a discussion about the demand for the Social Prescriber. I pointed out that he provided an excellent service to me earlier in the week. It was also pointed out that a good description of his job would be Social Sign-post.
Thee was a discussion on how and where patients could be when Doctors could carry out consultations over the telephone.
DOCTOR’S ON DUTY!
It was suggested that Patients have some access to knowing what days specific Doctors work. Management have said they will look at how this could be fairly carried out.
AUTISM OPEN HOUSE
We were made aware of the Autism Open House being held on
21st December 2018 at:
51 Three Colts Lane, E1, from 2pm
FAREWELL TO CHRIS WARD
The PPG presented Chris Ward with a farewell gift and card – only to find he’s now not leaving until after our next meeting!
