UNOFFICIAL LIGHTHEARTED VERSION OF THE MEETING HELD ON:
Thursday 14th June 2017 at 1.00pm
Minutes of the last meeting
A change was made as we had Ruhina listed as leaving, when in fact she is staying for a few extra months assisting with admin.
The remainder of the minutes were approved.
New Practice Manager.
We were introduced to Bola Jacobs who is filling in until selection and recruitment of a new manager is completed (Unless Bola wants the job herself!). Welcome Bola.
The situation with Did Not Attends (DNA) is improving, but still required further improvement. Please remember if you have booked an appointment and for any reason you can not attend or no longer require the appointment, you must inform reception to cancel it, or cancel it yourself on-line. Each DNA costs the practice around £120!
The practice is looking at making better use of our social prescriber by improving the amount of pharmacy work he does, and making better use of his speciality.
Ron, a longstanding contributer to our group has carried out a survey of every room in the practice. The results surprised everyone at just how much remedial work is now required to bring the premises to the high standards we are used to. The information has now been passed to the appropriate authorities and people concerned to rectify these problems as soon as possible. We understand that some rooms may now be closed off until this work is carried out. As some of the required works are urgent I will try to keep you up to date on this matter on this blog site. Ron – Thanks for your hard work on this survey.
Members of the PPG from the Spitalfields Practice
will be invited to a future meeting for an information exchange to see how both groups can improve their service to patients.
Any Other Business.
It was requested that we change the time of day that our meeting are held to either earlier in the morning or into the early evening. Although we had tried this before, we agreed to see how things progress by holding the next meeting at 5.oopm. (see date of next meeting)
HAES (Health at every size) Project.
It was agreed that this project be looked into, and see how we could assimilate this system around the practice,
12 Step Recovery Group
This is another process which the practice agreed to look into.
It was pointed out that there seems to be a problem with on-line prescriptions when an item is refused, as a patient has no idea of any item being rejected or missing until they arrive home to put the medication away. Is it possible to reset the system so that in the event of an item being rejected it will inform the patient straight away, as this would give them time to react and reorder the item or find out the reason for it’s rejection before they run out of the item.
The local Autism Group have changed the dates of future meetings. They will now run on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.
Parkinsons Disease Awareness
We were informed of the existence of this group. More info to follow.
It was pointed out that it would be helpful if there was some type of training for those who have problems accessing our on-line systems. Management will look into this.
Date of the Next Meeting:
Thursday 22nd August
Please come along!
