OUR PATIENTS PARTICIPATION GROUP MET TODAY (Thurs 3rd Nov ’16)
Once we were all settled down with our cuppa’s, we got down to business, whilst munching on some fruit, biscuits and crisps!
The first thing to deal with was the minutes of the last meeting, which was approved.
Among the matters arising was the Babble Voice telephone system, which we will deal with later, as were the Death Cafe, so we swept into this meetings’ agenda.
The first thing to come up is the one which affects us all, and that is the new ‘Babble Voice’ telephone system. The Centre management realise that there were more teething and installation problems than were expected, as many of you may have noticed. The remaining teething problems are being worked on to get the full system up and running completely and smoothly as soon as physically possible. We need to remember that once the system is fully up and running it will be greatly to the benefit of the patients, so please be a patient patient.
Yes – Christmas is coming, and the Centre have now released
the dates they will be closed. They are:
SATURDAY 24th December until TUESDAY 27th December INCLUSIVE.
The Centre will re-open as normal on WEDNESDAY 28th December
The Centre will also be closed for the New Years’ Bank Holiday on
Monday 2nd January 2017 for the one day only
Throughout this period, the normal Out Of Hours service will be operating.
We are hoping that we will be holding an Autism awareness event in the near future. Please keep an eye on this site for updates.
Although the Death Café was cancelled due to insufficient bookings, we will be carrying out more research into this project and hope to return with an amended and improved version in the new year.
It is realised that as the number of medical staff at the Centre is increasing, it is hoped that a who’s who photo-board will soon appear both on the Centres’ Website and in Reception, so lets hope the camera lens’ survive this one.
The Centre is still giving flu injections. For further information ask at reception, or your Pharmacy, who should also be giving them.
VISIT OUR NEW BLOG
The new flyer for this blogsite was reviewed, and approved subject to some changes, so you should see them around reception soon.
The Group were informed that when I applied to register as a Centre On-Line Services user, I used the opportunity to see how helpful and secure the links were. There were two websites we can use to log on, they came out as follows:
- patient.emisaccess.co.uk This site proved awkward to use. They seem to expect the Centre to have the e-mail addresses of all patients, which they don’t, so I was unable to use this site.
- i-patient.net This site loaded very smoothly, and offers a very user friendly page. There is no question that this is the site I obviously had to prefer, and I’m happy with it so far. I’ll let you know if this changes.
THE NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will be on 15th December (my birthday – so I hope they get a cake!) at 12.30pm. If you would like to come along and take part, please do, we welcome as many of our Centres’ patients as we can get, so just come along. Reception will tell you where we hide away.
Remember, if you find it clumsy to keep coming back to view this site, why not just use the ‘Follow by e-mail’ button on the side bar. Just enter your e-mail address, and we will let you know whenever a new article or update is made on this site.
